Queen of the Rosary School is a private school in Elk Grove Village, drawing children from Itasca, Wood Dale, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, and Elk Grove Village, as well as Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Queen of the Rosary School was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2011, ranking it in the top 15% of schools in the nation, most notably for its high levels of academic performance.
In 2014, a Booster Club was established at Queen of the Rosary. One of its first endeavors was to raise $7,000 for new basketball hoops. Thanks to many generous, local companies, the Booster Club purchased two new basketball hoops that are used daily during physical education and sport practices. Hanging near the basketball hoops is a “Hall of Donors” banner, displaying the logos of each company that generously assisted Booster Club in achieving their first goal.
Over the past three years, the QR Booster Club has raised over $10,000 through the sale of sports and spirit wear apparel, gym uniforms, and open gym nights. These funds have supported Queen of the Rosary athletic programs and provided students with much-needed safe and updated equipment.
Currently, the QR School Board and Booster Club are launching a new project called the Boost Technology Campaign. The main purpose of this endeavor is to support improved technology for students and to provide teachers and students with tools that will maximize classroom instruction. The school’s computer infrastructure, however, is in need of a complete “overhaul” before it can support new technology. Hence, the first phase of this campaign will cost approximately $30,000.
The good news is that monetary donations and skilled volunteers from school families and friends of QR, as well as local companies, have already stepped up with enough support to reduce expenses by 50%. Queen of the Rosary needs your help, however, in raising the remaining $15,000. The school’s goal is to secure 10-15 local companies willing to donate a minimum of $1,000 each. Donor names and logos will be displayed on the Booster Club “Hall of Donors” banner in the school gym through the 2020 school year. We hope you will thoughtfully consider supporting this fundraising endeavor.
